Return to Majors & Minors Return to: Majors & Minors

Core Requirements:

The Minor in Japanese Studies requires 18 semester credit hours. At least 15 of those credits must be in JAPN courses. JAPN 100 and JAPN 150 may be counted toward the Minor; all other courses must be beyond the 202 level.

Three credits toward the minor may come from a course outside of the JAPN program, provided it has significant Japan-related content (consult the AMES Program course listing; Minors are encouraged to take AMES 250, HIST 141, or HIST 142).

A maximum of 9 credits toward the Minor may come from courses taken in study-abroad programs, with program approval.

No course for the Minor may be taken pass/fail.
