Requirements for Major


Kinesiology & Health Sciences prepares students for a wide variety of academic and professional pursuits in fields that specialize in human body movement and its effect on human health. Students can elect to earn a B.A.  or B.S. in Kinesiology & Health Sciences . If selecting a B.S., students may choose one of three concentrations as a Kinesiology & Health Sciences major, but are not required to do so: a B.S. in Kinesiology & Health Sciences with a concentration in Allied Health  ; a B.S. in Kinesiology & Health Sciences with a concentration in Premed  ; or a B.S. in Kinesiology & Health Sciences with a concentration in Public Health .

Core Requirements Outside the Major:


Candidates for the B.S. degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences must successfully complete, in addition to satisfying the NQR requirement or GER 1 and 2, three additional science courses from computer science, mathematics, biology, chemistry, geology, or physics.  None of these three additional science courses may be taken on a Pass/Fail basis.

The B.S. In Kinesiology & Health Sciences with a Concentration in Public Health:


This concentration is appropriate as preparation for further study or employment in the Public Health or Global Health sectors. It may also be of interest to those preparing to enter other health professions, including medicine, nursing, and allied health professions.
