Online Non-Degree
Non-Degree Seeking Online Course Enrollment
Students may wish to complete online courses for either credit or audit for a variety of reasons. They can apply as an online non-degree student. The following policies will be applied:
- Non-degree seeking online course requests to take classes will be considered on a “space available” basis.
- W&M Law School does not claim that online courses meet the requirements of state bar examinations or transferability into degree programs at W&M or any other institutions.
- Online courses do not transfer or count toward a JD at W&M or any other institution.
- All non-degree students must comply with the Law School’s policies and regulations, including all Online Program Policies.
- Online courses, including courses taken by online non-degree students, are not eligible for the in-state tuition rate.
- Status is granted for one semester only; a new application must be filed for each semester.
- Students admitted as online, non-degree seeking students can take no more than 8 credits.
- Non-degree students who are auditing are governed by the Law School Auditing Law Courses policy.
- Senior citizens are entitled to enroll pursuant to the provisions of the Senior Citizens Higher Education Act of 1974 as amended (Va. Code §23-38.54 et seq.) and must file a certificate affirming their senior citizen status.
Admissions
Prospective students apply by submitting the Online Non-Degree Seeking Application through the W&M Admission Portal. Prospective students must have completed a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution to be eligible to enroll in graduate-level online law courses.
Upon admission, students will receive enrollment and registration instructions.
