Fall 2012 Instructor Taylor. “German Cinema” “Writing on the Wall: Literature, the Arts and the Fall of the Wall” The Fall of the Berlin Wall in November of 1989 did not only drastically change Germany’s geographical and political landscape. It was a watershed moment in German. Up to this day, the Fall of the Wall and its ensuing consequences remain a continuous challenge for the now reunified country. In this seminar, we identify and reflect upon the nature of these changes, and discuss how they have influenced the political, social, and cultural sphere. The course may be repeated for credit when topics are different
