PHYS 101 - General Physics Fall-Spring (4) Erlich, Staff Corequisite(s): MATH 111 - MATH 112 recommended (101 and 102 each satisfies GER 2A,)
This calculus-based course is designed to develop an understanding of the fundamental concepts of physics. Emphasis is placed upon Newtonian mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism; current research and applications are discussed. Designed for students who are considering majoring in one of the sciences or mathematics. Students may not obtain credit for both Physics 101 and either PHYS 101H or PHYS 107 , or for both PHYS 102 and either PHYS 102H or PHYS 108 . Physics 101 or PHYS 101H is a prerequisite for PHYS 102 . There is a fee associated with the laboratory.
