HIST 409 - Public History

Public History explores how history museums, especially Colonial Williamsburg, present history and make it meaningful today. The course uses current issues of society, politics, and race to interpret institutions that purport to speak to the collective identity of Americans through such media as exhibitions, performances, books, film, and digital communications.
