ECON 413 - Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Modeling Credits: (3) Prerequisite(s): (CSCI 141 and ECON 303 and ECON 304 and MATH 112 ) College Curriculum: COLL 400 This course combines calculus, statistics, economic theory, and programming to answer macroeconomic questions. Macroeconomic models range from the reduced-form to the structural. This course familiarizes students with vector autoregressions that are useful for establishing facts from data. We will then explore the application of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models, which are the workshorse models of central banks and other macroeconomic policy institutions, to understand those facts.
