HIST 255 - Religion in America to 1800 Credits: (3) Domain (Anchored): CSI This course provides an overview of major issues and developments in American religious history from pre-Columbian North America through the end of the eighteenth century. Topics include: Native American Sacred Power; Catholic Missions in New Spain and New France; Protestant Colonialism; Magic and Christian Authority; Slavery and the African Diaspora; British Religious Cultures; Evangelical Revivalism; Christian Anti- and Proslavery; Religion and Revolution; and Church-State Separation.
