ANTH 311 - Colonialism, Slavery, & Rebellion

Credits: (3)
College Curriculum: COLL 350
This course explores the centrality of uneven structures of global power, like colonialism & capitalism, in the making of the modern world. It aims to explore the complex (un)intended consequences of colonial encounters and the effects of conquest and slavery on indigenous and black experiences. Moreover, this course interrogates the enduring legacies these processes have left on our present. To ground these inquiries historically and geographically, this class tackles colonization, slavery, and the emergence of the Atlantic world.
