GSWS 318 - Gender and Global Human Rights

This course explores why gender-based violence and discrimination persist globally despite numerous United Nations instruments of human rights law, including the 1979 Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), the 1995 Beijing Platform of Action, and the UN Women, Peace, and Security framework. To this end, this course will center the experiences and knowledge produced by scholars and activists from historically excluded communities from all over the world.
