ANTH 250 - Introduction to Native Studies

Students will be introduced to the history, political experience, cultural, social organization, and artistic expression of indigenous peoples of the western hemisphere. Special attention will be given to issues of sovereignty, self-determination and environmental concerns of Native communities. The course will employ methods and materials from both anthropology, history, film studies and art history.
