CONS 493 - Conservation GIS Research Credits: (1-3) This course enables independent research, under the supervision of a faculty mentor, in areas relevant to conservation GIS (Geographic Information Science). In this research experience, students learn about the current strategies and practice of implementing GIS and remote sensing techniques to address contemporary conservation challenges. Students meet weekly with their faculty mentors to complete an original, independent research project and will participate in a weekly lab meeting. The specific requirements and deliverables will vary by project and be co-designed by the faculty mentor and the student. Hours to be arranged. By instructor permission only. This course can be repeated for up to four credits.
