LAW 640 - Disability Law

This course examines the growing area of disability law. Topics to be covered include discrimination based on disability in employment, government services, and public accommodations, as well as the requirement for educational institutions to provide special education services to disabled students. Relevant federal statutes will be examined, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (with special emphasis on the ADA Amendments Act of 2009), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act (IDEA).
