LAW 351 - Alternative Dispute Resolution Survey

Knowledge about dispute resolution processes outside the realm of litigation is indispensable to the practice of law. This survey course will introduce students to important legal principles associated with negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. Students will develop practice skills and intuitions to help clients resolve disputes. The goal is to develop students’ remedial imagination and to recognize that conflict can present opportunities for lawyers to help clients understand their interests and craft dispute resolution mechanisms most appropriate for the conflicts they face.
