LAW 491 - AI: Intro for Non-Experts This course introduces Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related technologies to non-technically oriented law students. Students will learn about the history of AI’s development, and how AI systems operate differently from “classical” programming. The course will focus on the two types of systems-predictive AI and generative AI-and students will have an opportunity to interact with publicly available AI-based programs to familiarize themselves with the potential and limitations of machine learning-based technologies. This course is not a prerequisite to the “Artificial Intelligence & More” seminar (Law 428-01) offered in the Spring semester, but students may find the foundational introduction complementing the seminar.
