BUAD 5967 - Revolutionary Strategy Capstone Credits: (4) Prerequisite(s): BUAD 5017 , BUAD 5507 , and BUAD 5517
This capstone course analyzes the sources of competitive success for organizations by breaking down organizational strategic management as a decision-making process that has four basic steps - (1) Analysis [A] - doing a thorough diagnosis of the competitive challenge/landscape facing the organization as well as internal analyses of strengths and weaknesses to undertake this challenge, (2) strategy formulation [F] - developing guiding polices and strategic alternatives to address the competitive challenge, (3) strategy implementation [I] - taking coherent and goal directed actions to respond to the competitive challenge, and (4) strategy evaluation - periodically evaluating the effectiveness of implemented strategy. The most important purpose of this class is to teach students to be a strategic leader - meaning a more systematic, logical, complete, critical thinker and communicator tasked with generating relevant-to-business and sustainable competitive strategies using the [AFI] framework.
