BUAD 6009 - Business Law

Legal considerations influence many aspects of business decision-making. Understanding business law helps accountants, managers, entrepreneurs, and board members manage risk, ensure compliance and develop informed strategies. Following an introduction of the American legal system, this course will expose students to contract law, commercial law, negotiable instruments, secured transactions and creditors rights. Additional topics covered include bankruptcy, agency law, and business organizations, including sole proprietorships,partnerships, LLC, and corporations.
