The focus of this course is on the development and structure of the community college: its history, purpose, characteristics, social function, organization and administration, curriculum, faculty, and students. This course introduces students to a comparative lens for examining community colleges, which focuses attention on global community college counterparts, such as technical and vocational education and training institutions.
