MSCI 501E - Fundamentals of Aquatic Health

This course emphasizes ongoing and emerging concerns in aquatic health. Lectures will address basic concepts and mechanisms of contaminant chemistry, toxicology, and infectious diseases in aquatic organisms. Case studies will be used to illustrate sources, fate, effects and mitigation of anthropogenic chemical contaminants, as well as the role of environmental change on the ecology and evolution of infectious diseases, in aquatic ecosystems.
