BUAD 5107 - Accounting for Decision Making and Financial Analysis Credits: (4)
This course introduces students to the role of accounting systems in organizations and globalcapital markets. Accounting information is essential for effective communication, operationaldecision making, and strategic decision making within a company. This course first developsstudents’ ability to estimate and interpret managerial accounting information useful for internalplanning, control, and performance measurement. In addition, external stakeholders areinterested in assessing an organization’s past performance and future prospects. This coursealso develops students’ ability to measure, communicate, and evaluate financial informationprovided to external stakeholders (e.g., investors, regulators, creditors, and analysts) in theform of financial statements and other disclosures.
