BUAD 503 - Professional Accounting II

Expands and integrates knowledge of US and international generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in a rigorous study of the design, selection, and consequences of various models of financial reporting. Students will study and debate issues currently under discussion at the FASB and IASB, research and negotiate accounting treatments for complex facts and circumstances with ambiguous accounting guidance, and build on the Financial Markets Module to develop an in-depth understanding of derivative accounting, off-balance sheet accounting, and fair value accounting.
