PHYS 102 - General Physics

This two-semester calculus-based sequence is designed to develop an understanding of the fundamental concepts of physics. Emphasis is placed upon Newtonian mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism; current research and applications are discussed. Designed for students who are considering majoring in one of the sciences or mathematics. Students may not obtain credit for both PHYS 101 and either PHYS 101H or PHYS 107, or for both PHYS 102 and either PHYS 102H or PHYS 108. PHYS 101 or PHYS 101H is a prerequisite for Physics 102.
