Curriculum & Instruction, MAEd (non-licensure)

This is an online degree program.

C&I faculty propose an MAED program of study that reflects a dynamic and innovative approach to developing teachers who are leaders–transformative in educating students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and students with disabilities. Experienced, currently licensed teachers are well-positioned to transform their school communities and lead their colleagues in advancing the quality of education for these children and youth. We seek to develop these transformative teachers through our courses in leadership, social justice, and global education and advance their skills through courses in inquiry and design for deeper learning.

This is a non-licensure MAED program offered to already-licensed teachers. The program includes independent concentrations in special education (grades K-6 and 6-12) that will lead to state-approved endorsements in special education and certificates in both special education and ESL. The program will be fully online. We anticipate adding additional concentrations to this program that are connected to themes of leadership and transformative teaching.
