Core Requirements:
A minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies requires 18 semester credit hours in the interdisciplinary field of Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Students are required to take HIST 131 or HIST 132 (cross-listed as LAS 131 and LAS 132 ) or HIST 309 (cross-listed as LAS 309 ). In addition, students minoring in Latin American and Caribbean Studies are encouraged to take one or more of the other classes listed above (LAS 131, LAS 132, LAS 309, or LAS 350). No more than 50 percent of the credit hours can be taken in any one academic department and at least 3 of the 18 semester credit hours should be taken at the 300-400 level. Courses taken while participating in William and Mary’s approved study-abroad programs can count toward the minor. Courses for the minor can be selected from the current list of courses offered in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. |
