May be satisfied in conjunction with the Literature before 1900 or Literature since 1900 requirements. Electives (9 - 12 credits)
- At least 9 elective credits must be in courses numbered 300 or above.
- Students may count 3 elective credits across the following categories:
in CWRW 212 in linguistics (LING) courses found in the catalog under English course descriptions; or in an approved Modern Languages or Classical Studies course, either in another language or in translation, listed on the “undergraduate program” section of English Department’s website. - Students may count an additional 3 elective credits in creative (CRWR) or expository writing (WRIT) at the 300 or 400 level.

Students may seek approval for elective credit for courses not on the lists of eligible English linguistics, Modern Languages, and Classical Studies courses by petitioning the English Department Chair. |
