Graduate Certificate in Finance for Real Estate Professionals
Program Description
The purpose of this graduate certificate is to educate students in the core financial competencies needed by today’s real estate professionals and investors. Students will learn and apply financial principles to real estate valuation and financing. Graduates will be able to use theories and conceptual frameworks to navigate challenges in a real estate world where assets are unique and difficult to liquidate, transaction costs are high, and price discovery is infrequent. Graduates will be able to use theories and conceptual frameworks to navigate real estate finance challenges; construct and analyze sophisticated financial models to identify value creation opportunities, assess risk, and make well-informed decisions that balance benefits versus costs; and effectively communicate financial analysis and strategic insights for executive-level decision making.
This certificate is stackable into the Online MBA - Finance specialization and or the Online Master of Science in Finance.

Format
Completion Time - 3 semesters
Credits required for Certificate - 16
Students are required to have a computer to support the software requirements of the program in addition to internet access and a webcam.
Fact Sheet/Tuition
The Certificate is a part-time program comprising 16 credits which can be completed in two semesters. Classes are asynchronous and are accessible by web or mobile application. The Certificate can provide a point of entry to the Online Master of Science in Finance program.
Admissions Requirements
The Online Finance for Real Estate Professionals certificate curriculum will prepare students to use theories and conceptual frameworks to navigate real estate finance challenges, and to construct and analyze sophisticated financial models to identify value creation opportunities, assess risk, and make well-informed decisions that balance benefits versus costs. To be considered for admission to the Online Certificate Programs, applicants must submit a completed online programs application, a 300-word personal statement, professional resume, and an undergrad transcript with numeric GPA. International applicants and those with a transcript from an international university may also need to submit a transcript evaluation and/or an English proficiency examination score as a part of their application.
All students admitted to graduate programs at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business must have a conferred bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution prior to matriculation.
