CSCI 437 - Introduction to Game Design and Game Development Credits: (3) Prerequisite(s): CSCI 301 and CSCI 303 College Curriculum: COLL 400 A comprehensive introduction to the design and development of computer games. Emphasis is placed on the formal process of game design, covering aspects such as the creation of the game proposal and design documents, designing game mechanics, balancing game play, and interest curves. This course also covers a broad range of technical topics in game development, ranging from programming techniques geared towards games, the basics of computer graphics algorithms for games, decision making and tactical AI, path finding, collision detection, visibility, and game physics.
