APSC 251 - Introduction to Engineering Design

This course will be an introduction to engineering design and will touch upon a variety of engineering subsets such as mechanical, electrical, optical, ocean engineering and material sciences.  The course will be project based and will utilize William & Mary’s makerspace facilities and tools to apply design thinking and experimentation in engineering concepts as the students work towards development of a multidisciplinary product.  Additionally, the aesthetic and cultural components of product design will be investigated and applied towards understanding of the product development process.
