APIA 380 - Media Arts & Agency Mobilizers Credits: (3-4) College Curriculum: ARTS Domain (Anchored): ALV “Media Arts & Agency Mobilization” is a community based creative arts workshop seminar for students interested in creating art and media work that seeks to mobilize agency for justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging within and for Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. While primarily geared towards creative writing, journalistic writing, photography, and graphic/layout design towards publication in APIA’s journal “Art & Hatsuye,” the course also welcomes students interested in utilizing the literary arts, digital/virtual arts, performing arts, spoken word, photography, video making and podcast creation. Students are immersed in the process of artistic creation and collaboration, which includes the formation of their aesthetic style, point of view, sense of innovative creativity, and purpose as artists for social justice in training.
