The Addictions Counseling graduate certificate is designed to provide students with the education and skills to counsel people struggling with addictions and substance abuse. Students will learn about the various aspects (e.g., biological, cultural, economic, and psychological) of substance abuse and addictions and, the treatments used to address addictions. Students will examine the impacts of addictions on the family and society. Students will learn techniques utilized to help people struggling with substance abuse and addictions. Graduates will be able to provide counseling to clients.
