ART 225 - Sculpture: Time

This studio art course will explore the meaning, nature, and perception of time as understood through studio practice in the visual arts. Class work will consist of a blend of reading and study of literary, philosophical, and scientific works with an emphasis on the changing concepts of time during the early decades of the twentieth century along with the creation of individual artistic work. Projects will focus on issues of historical and collective memory, sustainability, and sculptural form. This course is intended for students of all abilities and backgrounds and does not require any pre-requisites.
