Computer Science, M.S./Ph.D. Sequential Pathway

The Department of Computer Science offers a M.S./Ph.D. Computer Science Sequential Pathway for students.

Total Credits Required for the M.S./Ph.D. Computer Science Sequential Pathway: 60-62 credit hours minimum.

Student will first complete the degree requirements for one of the Computer Science M.S. degree options. Student should refer to the requirements for the M.S. degree they wish to pursue first.

Student must satisfy the Course Requirements as outlined in the Ph.D. in Computer Science or the Ph.D. in Computer Science – concentration in Computational Science sections of this catalog. At most six of these courses can also satisfy M.S. degree requirements.
Student will complete two additional approved courses at the 6XX level or 7XX (6 credits) following the guidelines outlined in the Ph.D. in Computer Science or the Ph.D. in Computer Science - concentration in Computational Science sections of this catalog.
Student must pass the Qualifying Exam Requirement as in the Ph.D. in Computer Science or the Ph.D. in Computer Science - concentration in Computational Science sections of this catalog.
Student completes a minimum of 24 credit hours of CSCI 800 - Dissertation and must successfully defend the dissertation as in the Ph.D. in Computer Science or the Ph.D. in Computer Science - concentration in Computational Science sections of this catalog.
